Bjork is a fan, what else is there to say? After releasing three mind-bending mix-tapes and the EP "Hey" on Terrible, he is releasing his debut album Riot Boi this fall. He's creating his own lane day by day, and we are just trying to get a seat in the car.

Foxing with O'brother, Tancred, and Adjy

The Luminary presents Foxing with o'brother, Tancred, and Adjy on Friday, April 18. Doors at 6:30 pm, show at 7:30 pm. Tickets: $11 adv, $14 dos; on sale Wednesday, January 20 at noon.

If you've ever looked at an old document and noticed brown spots on it, what you are seeing are signs of aging. It's not exactly clear what specifically causes them, but one day, the page will completely brown over and be no more. This is called foxing.

A group of St. Louis musicians took this idea and turned it into a band. "From the conception of the band, we realized: we're not gonna be around forever," says Foxing singer Conor Murphy. "There's classic literature that over time grows really old. But hopefully, you can make something that meant something at some point and will mean something down the road, even if it is aged and dated. That's always what keeps me going, the idea that we're writing something now that we won't be able to write in ten years." At only 21, Murphy is wise beyond his years and Foxing's debut album, The Albatross is indisputable proof of that.

Comfort zones are overratedjust ask the five members of the Atlanta-based rock outfit O'Brother. When they decamped from their home turf in early 2013 to take over a rented house on wintry Long Island, the idea wasn't just to update the hard-edged sound they'd achieved on their debut full-length Garden Window with producer Mike Sapone (known for his work with Brand New, Crime in Stereo, Public Enemy and more). This time out, the band reconvened with Sapone to embark on a mind-expanding journey into strange new territory, lyrically and sonically. All it took was a little inspiration.
