About Me:
Marian was born and raised in the Philippines. She was born in September 8, 1978. She's into abstract expressionists, abstract landscapes. She's a self-taught artist, studying other artist' works, watching a tutorial and mostly just pure imagination and emotion. Marian passion with painting emerged back in 2008, which served as a healing process for her loss with her first husband. It's through painting that she finds a way to pour out her feelings. For her, art is truly a form of healing, of coping.
Her inspirations are Joan Mitchell and Jackson Pollock to name a few. And local artist such as Deanna Chafin and Joane Malone of Saint Louis, Mo.
She had her first art show with the City of a Night Saint Louis, a night for Visual Artists last August 2014 held at the William Kerr Foundation. Her second show was with the MYSLArt for November33 show, a juried art exhibition that features 33 local artist at the Old Orchard Gallery located at Webster Groves. And the third show she joined was with Soulard Art Market, the Fleur de lis show, also a juried exhibition.
Marian lives currently in Soulard, the historic French and oldest neighborhood in Saint Louis, Missouri. It's here where Marian is inspired even better, having neighbors and friends who appreciate art and are also some artist. It's the perfect place for her to explore and do more arts.
"What I like about doing abstract painting is that the possibilities are endless, it's not limited, it's not contained. It's like the mind, it never stops thinking. It can get pretty scary, wonderful and dreamy. And when you paint, you just go with your intuition...or where the colors and patterns lead you. People who view your art has different interpretation, which is great. It's not just about one person's point of view, it's about everyone-what they feel, see and think about it at that moment while staring at your work. And that's what all matters". #randomthoughts
