About Me:
I love to create or design something from a thought, idea or inspiration. Most of my work was inspired by someone, a trip I took, or began with objects I have found and collected as a young child. I am a self taught mosaicist for the past 8 years. Mosaic art began as a hobby for me and evolved to a passion.
My first project was a mosaic coffee table, made from broken floor tile. I designed, created and sold several tile tables following that, then discovered stained glass mosaic and began to work more with hand cut glass and other types of materials. There are endless selections and many vibrant colors of stained glass, beads, ceramic tile, millefiori, smalti, and other mosaic tesserae that can be used for contemporary mosaics. I incorporate unusual materials in my work, fossils, mirror, pebbles, found objects, beads, and broken plates. I never return home empty handed from a walk on the beach or a trip.
I have been commissioned to do logos for several businesses, and donated various items for fundraisers and auctions. I love to mix materials to create a piece of artwork that will complement any décor, from contemporary to rustic.
Mosaics are a form of relaxation and a way to integrate unrelated small bits into a single work of art.
