About Me:
I am a mother of one 8 year old boy, I have my Bachelors of Science in Nursing, but have always been passionate about jewelry. About two years after having my son I was diagnosed with a brain tumor that is in a very bad location of the brain and as a result of my medical issues I cannot work as nurse. I started making Jewelry because I loved the whole handstamped/personalized jewelry, it started out as something fun for me to do and then people started seeing me wearing the stuff I made and they started asking me to make pieces for them, within two years I was in two local stores, did an event for mother’s day at a local jewelers, got my pieces in a local gallery, and started getting referall business from things remembered etc. I would never have imagined two years ago that I would be where I am now let alone have started my own business. I enjoy making pieces for others that have meaning and hearing the stories behind why they want something specific made. I feel lucky to be doing something I love and I try to enjoy everyday to the fullest as my future is uncertain because I’m basically waiting till they tell me I don’t have a choice anymore and have to have the tumor out. Taking the tumor out comes with a lot of risk because of where it is located I have been told that “if I make it out of surgery I will most likely have to relearn how to walk, talk, feed myself etc” it definitely makes you look at life in a different way when you know your future is so uncertain. That being said I enjoy making every piece I do knowing it has special meaning to someone and I love hearing the stories behind the pieces my customers have made. I believe jewelry isn’t “just jewelry” but instead a way for people to express who they are and to tell certain stories about their lives”.
