The Sainte Genevieve Plein Air Painting Event's call for artists this year offers $3,200 in cash awards to winning artists.

Sainte Genevieve, just 60 miles south of St. Louis on Interstate 55, was a nationally-known artists colony in the 1930s. Sainte Genevieve is also the oldest French settlement in America.

For more information on this call for artists, visit http://www.artstegen.org/index.php/2012-03-08-00-07-26/plein-air-pa...

To register over the phone as a participating artist, call Karen Kulberg at Main Street Inn, 573-883-9199.

Participating pre-registered artists are entitled to reduced rates at several Sainte Genevieve bed and breakfasts should they want to stay one or more nights in Sainte Genevieve during the seven-day event.
